study for film Peril in Orbit, 1969

paraphrasing Woody Vasulka: «I was looking for a new environment, a space to work with or in. On Canal Street in New York I found this bomb-looking, military sort of analogue device, a computer, which I bought. Getting it home, I took out all its gear, and it just looked like a capsule, a good cabin. It was 1969 and with all the space stuff going on, I just threw a monkey-wrench into the space race future, an elegy or allegory for all the astronauts lost in space in future.»
